Everyone staying in the territory of Hungary is entitled to emergency medical attendance, in cases when there is an acute danger of life, a chance for health-threatening permanent impairments or unbearable pain. 
Medicover membership card holders (White, Blue or Gold) in such cases should call the number of Medicover Hotline. Following the detailed questioning of the Client, Hotline operator decides whether an ambulance service is necessary to be sent.
Medicover cooperates with Főnix-Med SOS private ambulance service and since 2005 with National Ambulance Service as well.
National Ambulance Service has the exceptional right to rescue, if so, Főnix-Med can not help out. In case of life threatening situations, the primary aspect is the patient’s most sufficient medical attendance, this time the preferential conveniences may be put into the shade.
